Saltcoats Victoria F.C. — A Proud History

Origins and Early Years (1889–1940s)

Saltcoats Victoria Football Club was founded in 1889, making it one of the oldest junior football clubs in Ayrshire. From its inception, the club was built on community spirit, providing local players with the chance to represent their town in competitive football.

Known as “The Vics,” the club quickly established itself as a strong force in the junior football scene. In its early years, Saltcoats Victoria developed a passionate local following, with crowds packing into Campbell Park to cheer on the team.

Golden Eras and Great Battles (1950s–1980s)

Throughout the mid-20th century, Saltcoats Victoria enjoyed memorable highs, competing against some of the biggest names in junior football. The club gained a reputation for its resilience, homegrown talent, and fiercely loyal supporters.

Cup runs and fierce local derbies became the backbone of the club’s identity. The Vics were not just a team — they were the pride of Saltcoats.

Challenges and Community (1990s–2010s)

Like many grassroots clubs, Saltcoats Victoria has faced its share of challenges — financial pressures, ground maintenance, and the evolving demands of modern football.

But the strength of the club has always been its volunteers and supporters. Through thick and thin, the community kept Campbell Park alive, ensuring the red and gold of The Vics continued to shine.

Building for the Future (2020s–Today)

The club is now in a new era — rebuilding with ambition, passion, and a renewed sense of purpose. With a modern committee, fan-led initiatives, and a strong push for ground improvements, Saltcoats Victoria is striving to make Campbell Park a true community hub.

The goal? A sustainable club with deep roots and a big heart — ready to inspire the next generation of Vics.
